What to do this 4th of July Weekend...

All Weekend:


Lake Junaluska - Lake Junaluska Conference

Full schedule of events throughout the weekend including fireworks, live music and a plethora of barbecue and food options. Acclaimed Bluegrass performers - Balsam Range concert @ 7:30pm.


Freedom Days - Mountain Fresh Orchards, 2887 Chimney Rock Rd, Hendersonville

The Mountain Fresh Trackless Train will be running, so you can take a ride around the farm. Come grab fresh picked raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and other fruits and vegetables, warm apple cider donuts, fresh baked apple bread, apple pies and other tasty treats. 9am-5pm


Friday, July 2nd:


Concerts on the Creek - Bridge Park 76 Railroad Ave, Sylva

These mountains are known as much for the music that comes out of them as they are for their picturesque vistas, cascading waterfalls and alluring trails. Grab your chairs, blankets and picnics and enjoy classic rock hits from Terry Lynn Queen, Scott Baker and Tim Queen @ 7pm.


Wild and Free Burlesque - The Grey Eagle

What better way to celebrate our nation’s independence than to kick back, grab some amazing local grub, a good stiff drink and scream your overworked brains out as you gawk at Asheville’s hottest performers getting wild, sweaty and naked!


Saturday, July 3


Freedom Fest - Everett Street, Bryson City

Old Fashioned American Celebration with a slew of family friends activities starting at 10am and heading late into the evening with music and dancing.

Stars & Stripes Celebration - Haywood County Courthouse, Waynesville

Celebrate Independence Day with live music and entertainment. “Kids on Main” Patriotic Parade starts at 11 a.m with sign up at 10 a.m.


Spangled Banner Elk - Main Street, Banner Elk

Parade, games and family fun start @ 11am. The famous Kiwanis Duck Races begin at 12:30 p.m. with a new twist this year. Instead of buying a numbered raffle ticket for one of the rubber ducks in the races, each “ticket” will be a small keepsake duck.


Downtown Independence Day Celebration - 315 Bridge Street, Hot Springs

The whole town celebrates Independence Day, and a spectacular fireworks show is put on by the Fire Department on the spa grounds at dusk, around 9pm. Come to town to enjoy this free event, followed by live music on N. Andrews St.


Black Mountain Fireworks - 207 Sutton Ave, Black Mountain

Fireworks only at 9:30! Unfortunately no street dance or other events this year.



Sunday, July 4th


Free Fishing - All day anyone can fish in North Carolina without a license!


Concerts on the Creek - One World Brewing, West Asheville

One of Western North Carolina’s most respected songwriters backed by his ever revolving cast of virtuoso musicians. From folk to bluegrass through blues and country Taylor Martin and The Song Dogs original compositions are well mixed with an obscure selections of the American songbook. 5-9pm


Celebrating this year in style with Sweet Cheesus and CeCi’s Culinary Tour on site and live music from some of our favorite bands - Jackson Grimm & The One String Band @ 12pm and Pleasure Chest @ 3pm.


Concerts on the Creek - Bridge Park 76 Railroad Ave, Sylva

An extra concert beyond the normal Friday night in celebration of 4th of July!

The All in One Party Band will be playing @ 6pm followed by fireworks @ 9pm Terry Lynn Queen, Scott Baker and Tim Queen, Classic rock hits


Asheville Fireworks - 121 College St, Pack Square Park, Asheville

This year there will be a performance from Nex Millen starting at 6:30pm in preparation for the evenings fireworks.


Hendersonville Fireworks - 201 S Main st, Visitors Center, Hendersonville

The evening’s activities will include inflatables, kids games and activities, food trucks, and 2 stages featuring live music, with the evening being capped off with the annual fireworks display @ 9:15pm.


Lake Julian Fireworks - 406 Overlook Extension, Lake Julian

Arrive early and enjoy local bluegrass band Supper Break and all the park has to offer: disc golf, corn hole, sand volleyball, playgrounds, fitness courses, horseshoes and more. Uncovered picnic tables and grills are available on a first come basis as well as food trucks galore!
